Local before arrival
Julian Smith, Frankfurt DJ legend, envisioned his new place as being a very "Barfly"-esque sort of affair – so that's exactly what he went for! But it's not just the name of this former hotel wine cellar that draws from that Mickey Rourke film about Charles Bukowski's alter ego, Henry Chinaski. Across the back wall of the nine-meter-long bar is an exuberant street art homage to the author himself where perfectly cast bartenders serve Chinaski-authentic drinks on blue jean beer mats. It's just not possible to get enough of it!
